Guerra, Weisman & Haxton Win PLO Titles
The PLO series kicked off with a $5,100 buy-in event that saw last year's PGT PLO champion Lautaro Guerra defeating heads-up opponent Josh Arieh, a six-time bracelet winner who has three bracelets in Omaha events. Spain's Guerra is a PLO crusher of his own and won several PGT titles last year, including in the $25,000 Pot-Limit Omaha Championship that brought him $518,750.
The next event, a progressive bounty tournament, saw Dylan Weisman winning a total of $195,245, including bounties, as he topped the field of 159 players. Weisman is a PLO specialist and coach who already had three PGT titles before he defeated Britain's Richard Gryko during heads-up play.
The next two winners were Americans Matthew Wantman and James Chen, who respectively earned $192,560 and $220,000 for their victories.
Another bounty event took place in the form of Event #5 - $15,100 Pot-Limit Omaha Progressive Bounty, which drew 82 runners and saw Isaac Haxton winning $383,740 and his second title of the PGT season.
According to PokerGO updates, Haxton's prize money notably included $214,000 in bounties he secured after defeating 2011 WSOP Player of the Year Ben Lamb during heads-up play.
The next event in the series is currently underway with a final table that includes Alex Foxen, Nick Schulman and Jeremy Ausmus. A preview of the final table is available on YouTube and the full stream can be watched on PokerGO.

- There are many advantages to playing rummy that go beyond simple enjoyment. Its ability to stimulate the mind is one of its main benefits; playing Rummy calls for quick decision-making, strategic planning, and critical thinking abilities. As players examine their hands and predict the moves of their opponents, they practice cognitive skills like problem-solving and memory retention. In addition to improving general brain health, this mental activity may even help prevent cognitive decline in older people. In addition to providing mental stimulation, rummy is a great way to decompress and relieve stress. 25-01-04
- For example, it might be a sign that your opponent is aiming for a particular set or run if they keep picking up cards from the discard pile that you have already discarded. You can use this information to make well-informed choices about which cards to keep or throw away. Managing your hand well is another essential component of rummy strategy. Maintaining adaptable cards that can contribute to several possible melds will help you keep your options open. 25-01-04

- Indian Rummy is a noteworthy variant that has gained cultural renown in India. With two decks of cards and jokers, Indian Rummy gives players more chances to play strategically and permits more intricate melds. The goal is still the same: to effectively manage one's hand while forming legitimate sets and runs. Canasta, which includes aspects of player cooperation and teamwork, and Kalooki, which adds special rules about wild cards and scoring, are two more variations. - Participants' goodwill is increased when wins are celebrated politely and losses are humbled. Clear communication about house rules prior to the start of a game is another crucial component of rummy etiquette. It helps to avoid misunderstandings during play by talking about the rules and scoring systems that may be specific to each variation. In addition, players should be aware of their pace; taking too long on turns can cause frustration & break the game's flow. 25-01-04
- In rummy, melting is the process of forming runs, which are three or more consecutive cards of the same suit, or sets, which are three or four cards of the same rank. Players' odds of winning can be greatly impacted by their strategic decision of which cards to keep and which to discard. Players also need to pay attention to what their opponents are doing because discarding some cards might unintentionally help them create their own melds. When no more moves are possible or a player goes out by melding all of their cards, the game is over. At the end of each round, players' unmelded cards are usually counted against them, though scoring can vary depending on the house rules. 25-01-04
